- Premio Investigador Joven (Young Investigator Award). School of Medicine, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2008).
- Premio “Dr. Jaime Chesta” of the Chilean Society of Gastroenterology. This award is given to the young investigator with the greatest potential (2003).
- Beca “Presidente de la República” (President of the Republic Scholarship), awarded by the Ministry of Planning (MIDEPLAN) to support training abroad (2001).
- Certification as a physician in the United States of America by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). USMLE scores: Step 1 (basic sciences) 231 (92); Step 2 (clinical sciences) 234 (89); English test (1998).
- Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (1998).
