Coluria

When bilirubin accumulates in blood, it is excreted by the urine, making it darker.

Coluria means dark-colored urine due to excretion of bilirubin in the urine. Urine typically has the color of Coca-Cola. Dark urine is a symptom of elevated bilirubin and occurs at an earlier stage than jaundice and may be the first symptom of acute hepatitis. It must be differentiated from hematuria, which is the loss of blood in the urine.
